When it comes to cars, Ferrari is one of the most recognized brands in the world. Even though they don't sell many cars every year, they do make up for it in Ferrari themed merchandise. From items ranging from pens to chess sets, Ferrari makes more money selling their name on other things than selling cars.
The first theme park to open was Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. It has become so successful that Ferrari will be building a second theme park in Barcelona, Spain. Much like what Walt Disney did, this new resort will be called Ferrari Land. It will feature many attractions, including what could be the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. There will also be a restaurant, stores, and even a hotel shape like a Formula One car.
Teaming up with PortAventura, the entire project will cost around $140 million and is expected to open in 2016. No word on when the hotel will open, but the windows are the car's radiators, and there may even be a restaurant at the top inside the cockpit. It will have 250 rooms and a driving simulator.
With Barcelona bringing in roughly 4 million tourists a year, there is no reason why Ferrari wouldn't choose that location to build it's second theme park. It would be nice to see one in the United States. Florida would be a great place since not only is it flooded with tourists, it's got tons of car lovers and car related museums everywhere. Plus, there's also Daytona Speedway and NASCAR.
