Lincoln Goes Grave Robbing with its Continental Concept

With most luxury car makers, new ideas are what keep buyers coming and the company going. Sadly for Ford's Lincoln division, they seem to have hit a rough patch. Not only are their cars slow, ugly, and not very luxurious, they're losing money. Now, the only way they may be able to save themselves is by bringing back one of their more successful models.

Usually, when a company brings back an old model, it means they've run out of ideas. This sadly seems to be the case for Lincoln. The designers over at Bentley say the new Continental is a complete copy of the Flying Spur. Apart from a few differences, you sort of see where they're coming from. Inside, it looks like a typical luxury car focused more on the passengers. When you look closer, you can see some similarities to the new Mercedes S-Class, including massage seats, a champagne cooler, and fold out tablets.

Lincoln is keeping quiet about performance figures, but they have said it will feature a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6. Chances are this car won't go very fast because it's geared more for the passengers than the driver. Therefore, you will have a quiet, relaxed ride as you sit back and have a drink. Lincoln hopes that the market in China will help boost sales, but they may have to come up with something more original instead of looking back at their previous models. The Continental will be making its debut next week at the New York Auto Show.
