Car Review: 2014 Nissan 370Z

Most cars today are fitted with so much technology, it feels like the car is doing more of the driving while you just sit there for the ride. Very few cars today give you the thrill and satisfaction of actually driving. But the new 370Z is going back to the fun days of driving on the open road.

When you first set eyes on the 370Z, it does have quite an aggressive look and it sits very low to the ground. It almost harkens back to the old Datsuns from the 70's and 80's. Inside, you get a tight and sporty feel the way most drivers cars should feel like. Instead of cramming the car with technology, Nissan has gone the other way with traditional gauges on the dashboard and a simple radio. But there is GPS available if you want it.


Powered by Nissan's 3.7L V6, this car is not the fastest car you'll ever see. 0-60 mph takes an average 5 seconds and then on to a top speed of around 150 mph. But this car is not made to do drag races. this is made to have fun in the corners. When you do get to a corner, you then see why it's low, agressive looking, and covered with tons of curves. You can go around any corner at any speed, and you will be smiling the entire time.

If you have the automatic version, it's actually quite quiet and comfortable if you just want to have a relaxing drive. When you switch the car into manual, that's when the V6 engine comes alive and starts growling at you. While most cars come with paddle shifters, this is one of the few cars where the paddles actually work. If you prefer to have the old fashioned manual, that's available as well.


Apart fom having little to no visibility in the back, this is actually one of the few cars that's not too expensive, but so incredibly fun to drive. If you want to go fast, you can go for the GT-R. But if you want to have some fun and don't care how fast you're going, then the 370Z is one of the few cars where you can do just that.
