Saying Goodbye to Weismann Yet Again

Saying Goodbye to Weismann Yet Again

Last summer, German automaker Weismann filed for bankruptcy. Despite that, the company didn't give up right away. They came up with a new plan to save the company just a few short months later.

Even though their cars look like something from the 1920's, they don't drive like their 20's ancestors. Except for a few old fashioned technology, the cars are pretty much modern versions of old fashioned roadsters. Even the BMW engines that power the cars make them much faster than previous roadsters ever went.

Sadly, after 20 years, the company stopped making cars back in March. Despite a neat plan to save the company, no one wants to give Weismann any more money. So now, the employees have been laid off and the company has been shut down for good. It's quite a shame since there aren't many car makers out there today looking to bring old fashioned roadsters into the 21st century. We'll see if TVR can manage to come back to life. Then the modern roadsters may have an interesting fight on their hands.
