Russia's Answer to the Limousine

There are many different types of limousines all over the world. Some are meant for business officials, while others just bring high school seniors to their senior prom. The most recognized is the Presidential Limousine. It appears that Russia has taken notice of Barack Obama's limousine, nicknamed "The Beast," and have decided to build their own version.

Known simply as Project Cortege, Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided that he wants a big limousine for himself so that he can look just as powerful as Barack Obama's limo. It will be built in Russia using a Russian chassis, and there will even be help from Porsche as well. Unlike the Nazis, Putin has prohibited any form of Soviet Union design, even if it looks similar to the old Soviet vehicles.


Besides limos, there will also be an array of Russian built vans and SUV's for government officials to be driven in. It will cost around $150-400 million to complete the project. If history has taught us anything regarding Russian built vehicles, chances are the vehicles will either not move at all or fall apart very quickly. Hopefully they'll keep the Mercedes S-Class vehicles that they're currently using in case they need something reliable to travel around in.
