The new year has already begun. Not only is it the start of a new year, but it's the start of the auto shows beginning with the one in Detroit. There will be many new versions of current models as well as completely new models. There will even be some concepts being shown off for some cars that should've been made years ago. Here are just five new cars that will be making their debut next week at the Detroit Auto Show. The Detroit Auto Show will be held from January 13-14 in Cabo Hall in Detroit, MI.
Toyota Supra - Car lovers have been waiting decades for Toyota to create a real sports car. The current models we have are the Scion FR-S and the Subaru BRZ. But with a possible return of the Supra, we can stop driving around in our boring Corollas and Camry's thinking that they're real sports cars when they're clearly not. Toyota is being quiet about the new Supra, but we do know that it will most likely have 400-hp and be a hybrid to compete with the new Acura NSX. That would be a nice race to watch.
Subaru WRX STI - With the big spoiler, gold rims, and huge front scoop, it definitely looks like a proper WRX. It will have a bigger 2.5L boxer four engine producing around 300-305-hp. Unlike other Subaru's, this will only come as a four door sedan.
Volkswagen Dune Beetle - In the 1960's, dune buggies were a popular toy to drive around sandy beaches. Now, Volkswagen has produced a concept version out of the current Beetle R. It will be much wider than the current Beetle and come with much bigger, off-road tires. I'm not sure whether those are ski poles or a weird looking spoiler on the back.
Audi Allroad Shooting Brake - This may be either a concept of the new TT or a new Q1, but it's not a bad looking car. Those triangle front headlights do seem a bit odd looking though. Inside, the interior does show some resemblance to the new TT interior, so chances are this may be the new TT.
Mercedes Benz S600 - The new S-Class is one of the most luxurious cars ever made by Mercedes Benz. Now with an AMG tuned 6.0L V12 making 621-hp, this will also be quite fast as well. Going from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds, not only will you be outrunning most cars on the road, you'll be quite comfortable when you drive past everyone.
