Most things that are made out of ice are generally pretty cool. Things like ice sculptures, ice bars, but a tire company in Canada called Canadian Tire wanted to show that their batteries can withstand any temperature. Why not have it power a truck made entirely out of ice?
Of course, there were a few problems. The truck chassis had to hold the 14,000 lbs. of ice, and they had to make sure the ice didn't melt when the truck was running. After modifying the frame and putting in extra coolant to keep the ice from melting, the car was started.
Not only did the car run, it actually moved. Going at a speed of only 12 mph for a mile down the snowy roads of Ontario, this became the first fully functional truck made out of ice. Submissions to the Guinness Book of World Records was sent out to see if this truck would officially become the world's first functional truck made out of ice. Until a response comes, you can check out behind the scenes of the making of this truck, plus the freaky video of the truck melting.
