Fiat is expanding its 500 line with a three-row, seven-passenger seating version - the 500L Living.

Introduced in Zona Tortona, Milan on the 4th of July, the Fiat 500L Living is what the company calls the "Magic Purpose Wagon," Mauro Pierallini, head of Fiat-Chrysler Engineering explains.

The best feature about the 500L Living is its un-wagon-like exterior. The car feels big and bulky compared to the regular Fiat 500, but it is shorter than most other wagons, with tall and cute body design. Because of the car's rectangular shape, the 500L Living offers spacious interior despite its shorter length.

Inside seat configuration is agile enough to accommodate 4 adults and 2 kids comfortably, and can turn the car into a cargo station wagon with huge volume in seconds.

The biggest downside of the 500L Living would be its engine power. Fiat has not announced its plan for launching the Living across the pond, but in European configuration, the car is powered by the 105 HP 0.9 TwinAir Turbo or two turbodiesels: the 105 HP 1.6 MultiJet II and the 85 HP 1.3 MultiJet II.

If Fiat beefs up the engine for the US market, the 500L Living could be ideal for a city family with occasional need of third row seating.
