For some reason, maybe due to the low price on gas, most people aren't buying electric cars like most companies predicted. Perhaps it's too politically correct, or maybe people just like the noise a good old fahsioned engine makes when you put your foot down.
To help get more people into electric cars, Nissan Europe has decided to offer the Leaf with a special glow in the dark paint scheme. During the day it looks like a regular white color, but while the solar panels soak up the sun's energy for the battery, the paint is also soaking up the sun. When the sun goes down, the car glows in the dark for 8-10 hours. This would make it better for cars to see you coming since you can't hear the Leaf coming.
The green difference about this paint over other glow in the dark paints is that it's completly organic and doesn't pollute the environment. There is no promise that this glowy solution will convince people to get into electric cars since they can just spray on glow in the dark paint themselves. But Nissan Europe is hoping that it does.
