The Bentley Grand Convertible Proves that British Luxury can Go Wild

Most British luxury cars are more about comfort and relaxation rather than having fun and going crazy. The only thing that matters is how well the seats massage you while you sip on your champagne that's been chilling in the built in fridge. It's been years since Bentley, the pinnacle of British luxury, has ever done something as crazy as a convertible. But now, they may have decided to loosen up a little.

They took their fastest car, the Mulsanne, and simply took the roof off and called it the Grand Convertible. To make sure it still has that luxury feel though, they have made it much more rigid. Being a Bentley, you'll probably feel like you're inside a yacht rather than a car. With the burl walnut tonneau cover and the Beluga leather with cross blue stitching, it makes for a very breezy land yacht.

Being based off of the Mulsanne, this Grand Convertible is powered by Bentley's 6 3/4-liter V8 making 530 horsepower and an incredible 811 lb. ft. of torque. So you can blow by all the other cars as you sail along the road wearing your captain's hat. There is no word on whether this is just a concept or an actual production car, but there is word that cars like this will be where Bentley is headed in the future. The Grand Convertible will be on display at the LA Auto Show from Nov. 18-20.
