Ariel Motors is more well known for making track cars than actual cars. The good news is that these track cars can be driven on the road. At least in Europe they can. Of course, with all the car's components in view, you would look like a complete dork. But like most track cars, you can outrun anything on the road before anyone sees you.
To take things up a notch, Ariel has made the Atom even faster. The 3.5R Atom now has a new six speed sequential transmission that can change gears faster than it takes to blink an eye. The supercharged 2.0L engine from the Honda Civic Type R now boosts power from 310 to 350 hence the name.
With this new power, 0-60 mph takes a ridiculous 2.5 seconds, and then an additional 3.5 seconds to get to 100 mph. Some other new features is the ability to customize the ride to however you want. You can adjust the dampers and the springs for a softer or firmer ride. You can even adjust the limited slip differential to however much you want to drift around corners. This new Atom will cost around $135,000, but sadly, it will only be offered in Europe. Ariel does say that another version may be coming to the States, but people can still drive the original Atom over at Virginia International Raceway.
