This isn't the first time Google has played around with self-driving cars. Its first test cars were all cars built by Toyota and Lexus and used Google maps to navigate around.
Now, Google has made a self-driving car all on their own, and it doesn't seem like they know what they're doing. There is no name yet for this car, but it looks like it should be called Jerry since it looks like a digital mouse. Inside, there is just enough room for you and one other person. There are no luxurious features whatsoever. There are no pedals, no gear shifter, and no steering wheel. There's just a big screen where you plug in where to go and the sensors and computers in the car do the rest.
If this car does somehow make it into production, Google may have to make it able for people inside to drive the car themselves in case something goes wrong. Otherwise, you'll be having tons of accidents with cars getting lost and crashing.
I always thought that self-driving cars would be better than this. I was imagining a normal looking car where you can just sit back and relax with people in the back while the car does the driving. You barely have enough room to make out. Hopefully, things will get better than this. Otherwise, the future of self-driving looks more like a boring nightmare.
