With EPA estimated 45MPG in city, highway and combined, the MKZ Hybrid's fuel economy is 2MPG city and 5MPG highway better than the nearest competitor Lexus CT 200h, which is a compact hybrid luxury hatchback.
In the comparable segment, the MKZ Hybrid outperforms:
1. Lexus ES 300h by 5MPG city and 6MPG highway,
2. Infiniti M35h by 18MPG city and 13MPG highway, and
3. BMW ActiveHybrid 3 by 20MPG city and 16MPG highway.
The MKZ Hybrid even delivers better MPG than the clean diesel vehicles by Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
At the same time, Ford managed to price the new MKZ Hybrid same as the regular MKZ model.
In its effort to revive the Lincoln brand, Ford is putting a lot of effort into building competitive vehicles. The Lincoln MKZ is one of four new Lincoln models that Ford is launching in coming four years.
