BMW introduced the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor, "a compact car that can."

Powered by BMW's eDrive system, the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor is a plug-in hybrid that combines the power of an electric motor and a 1.5L TwinPower Turbo internal combustion engine. The resulting output is 190HP with 113MPG of fuel efficiency, that can propel the car 0-60MPH under eight seconds.

The BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor is an outdoor version of the BMW Concept Active Tourer, which the company introduced at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. In this new iteration, BMW sought to showcase the car's versatility in assisting active outdoor lifestyle. From the completely folding down rear seats that render a cargo volume of a small SUV, to built-in bicycle carriers and easy-clean interior materials, BMW designers paid a lot of attention to details that appoint this compact car with plenty of utilities.

While the original intention of introducing the BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor at the OutDoor Friedrichshafen fair may have been just to draw the attention of the consumers with active outdoor lifestyle, this version of the Concept Active Tourer triggered the imagination of many utility seeking car buyers, outdoor oriented or not. It is a "compact car that can."

After all this teasing with the different versions of Concept Active Tourer, BMW should really plan a production model for sale in all markets around the globe. A compact car with so much utility, outstanding efficiency and BMW-like drivability sounds like a clear winner.
