With the nation focused on stupid things and stupid people, at least some things are trying to become smarter. A digital technology company known as Breakfast has come up with an interesting take on the common street sign.
It's called Points and it may be the smartest street sign in the world. It has the ability to not only show where certain areas and attractions are located, it can also be programed to show a variety of information. People can walk right up to it and with the push of any of the buttons on it, they can find out where different food establishments are located, what events and concerts are going on in the area, and even find out the weather.
These smart signs can display any information relating to whichever city the sign may be located in. The company has spent three years developing the sign and are still in the prototype stage. The sign can be rented for events, but there's no word yet as to whether these smart signs will arrive in any local cities just yet.
